NEW PLANET DISCOVERIES

With each passing day there have been advancements in technology and with new technology, new discoveries are made more faster than before. At first it was said that there limited number of planets in universe but with the new technology it’s proven wrong as many planets have been discovered in our universe which are called as exoplanets (not a part of our orbit but part of our universe).

 

Recently with the new technology of NASA; Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) Astronomers searched another planet which Is more dense and hotter than many planets and have eight-hour year with temperature of 1500 centigrade, having the ability to melt all the metals present on earth. Humans have been searching for new discoveries for years and years and Astronauts work in particular category of finding new planets. The planet GJ367b Is also considered as one of the lightest planets out of 5,000 exoplanets in this universe with the radius of 72 percent of Earth’s radius and 55 percent of Earth’s radius. GJ367b is the only planet which is orbiting around its parent stars but there might be more planets which are yet to be discovered orbits around their original parent stats This all discovery was made practically possible by the help of improvements and innovation in the technology.

 

Apart from this discovery scientist also discovered another giant planet “b Centauri b” which is also exoplanet and is approximately 10 times bigger than Jupiter orbiting around the environment of stars which was considered to be not an ideal environment for a planet to exist but with the discovery of this planet it was shocking and new to scientists that planets can exist in this environment too because till now the biggest planet orbiting around the star was three times bigger than sun but this star have extremely hot environment and is massive which emits harmful radiations and X-rays radiation which according to European scientists should work against the planet’s existing nature.

 

Some believed there might be existence of aliens there and aliens experienced a whole different experience than the experience we face here on Earth. What made these discoveries possible? New Technology, the only sole reason behind this all work and discoveries is innovation in the technology, without technology it wouldn’t have been possible to ensure such useful discoveries each day. The planet “b Centauri b” was discovered in July 2021 but recently its photographs were made public which were clicked by the largest telescope till date and experts say that the more distance from the central pair of stars could be the key to survival of planet for now. Researchers on this showed positive response towards this and are motivated to work more on this by creating different types of surveys and telescopic research and advancement in the field of telescopes so that they can find more of it and of the similar planets orbiting in solar system and in universe. The current picture was taken by ESO’s large telescope currently residing in Chile and many scientists say that this discovery changed the whole concept of system and many of the scientists and astronauts say that there are possibilities that this planet was formed somewhere else and is now transported here due to continuous and dynamic interaction with the other objects present in solar system. But this still is mystery to be yet solved by the scientists that how this planet was born and how differently the mechanism of planet formation works.

 

NASA’s planetary science department works on history and existence of solar system and of universe, they are investing and are involved in discovering new planets and system of universe with the help of technology, with the discovery of each planet new forms and existence of planets are studied with the  wide range of practical’s and researches based on those planets are done, for example discovery of “b Centauri b” led scientists and astronauts to research more about the types of formation of planets as the previous concept was that planets can’t exist in this nature of environment.
